Will she give in to his advances?

About

"Eugene Onegin is a story about a love that doesn't work." That's how Ralph Fiennes sums up the plot of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's opera, based on Pushkin's work. Passionate about Russian culture and drawn to the dramatic intensity of the composer's music, Ralph Fiennes makes his debut as an opera director. His choice of pictorial simplicity to evoke the Russian countryside or a ballroom is deliberate, a way to bring out the characters' emotions, as complex as they are modern.
